Offences “against the order of nature” make us blush because many of us probably partake in some of them. Ingatkan Hindraf dan Raja PetraJika kita imbas kembali isu-isu yang membawa bencana kepada landskap politik yakni kemuncak Pilihan Raya Umum 2008 – kita harus mengakui peranan penting yang dimainkan oleh kedua-dua Hindu Rights Action Force, atau Hindraf, dan penulis blog Raja Petra Kamaruddin. Dalam kaedah yang berbeza, kedua-duanya memberikan Pembangkang dorongan dan dinamika yang amat berharga itu, keadaan yang seakan-akan menempeleng keupayaan BN yang sudah lama berkuasa sendiri sehinggakan rakyat berani untuk perubahan melalui perarakan. Remember Hindraf and Raja PetraIf we reflect on the issues that wrought cataclysmic change to the political landscape – culminating in the 2008 General Election – we must acknowledge the important role played by both the Hindu Rights Action Force, or Hindraf, and blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin. In different ways, both gave the Opposition the impetus and dynamism it so badly needed then, the kind that outstripped even the BN juggernaut’s ability to contain the people’s march for change.
